Digital Marketing

Hello everyone. My name is Joseph Reeder. This is my first time using a blog so bear with me. I am a marketing student at the Pennsylvania College of Technology and I aspire to work for a Fortune 500 company and work my way up to upper management in their marketing department. For those of who don’t know me, I am a very hard-working and motivated person. I like to be challenged. That’s just me. I am in the top 10% of my class and was just inducted into Delta Mu Delta: International Honor Society in Business. This was a real honor for me. Now I am pursuing an internship with a few companies from a few different states. A few that I have applied for are with Walt Disney, Facebook, an NFL team, and a few more. I hope to get one because that will help boost my experience and help put me on my career path.

You may be asking why I am writing this blog? Well I have to for a class, but I also want to share what I have learned throughout my courses and in the marketing world. This knowledge may sound familiar to many of you who are currently in marketing positions, but for those who aren’t I may be able to give knowledge and/or advice that may help take their marketing campaigns and blow them out of this world. Most of what I will be discussing in this blog is on digital marketing. Although if there is any other information that you would like to know under the contacts page complete the form. I would be more than happy to answer any questions or post information about a topic that you are interested in.

One of the most important aspects of marketing is now the digital side rather than more traditional ways. Optimizing all digital platforms from social media to your website is very important when it comes to promoting your brand or even yourself. Many don’t understand that concept. Promotion helps to reach new and existing customers. Also in today’s world, we have all these platforms to connect with everyone around us. Small businesses to large organizations need to have some sort of digital presence, especially social media platforms. This allows your consumers to promote your products and company. This is called earned media. A customer or individual that shares a picture, status, video, etc. of your product and tags your page in it. This is free advertisement. They are promoting your brand for you. By optimizing and utilizing all that social media and the digital age has brought us, we can reach many more consumers than we have before with other marketing campaigns for a lower cost.
